The Pass
Analyzed Washington, D.C. June weather from 2023–2025 and used statistical testing and unsupervised learning to identify patterns and classify an unseen week from June 2026.

A Java desktop app that predicts a batter's average under given game-temperature conditions, pulling live weather via the OpenWeather API, applying a Bayes' Theorem-inspired statistical calculation over historical temperature buckets, with a Swing UI and Excel-based data persistence (Apache POI).

Growing up, my Windows machine was basically my guinea pig. Sketchy downloads, cracked game mods, all of it. Instead of wiping the drive every time something went wrong, I taught myself how to boot into Safe Mode, go through the startup files one by one, find whatever didn't belong, remove it, and then run antivirus. Nobody showed me how. I just kept messing with it until I figured it out.
Years later, I started college at Montgomery College, but a personal emergency pulled me out of school. I went to work and ended up building a career in the restaurant industry. At Bonefish Grill, I worked my way from Host → Server → FOH Manager → Culinary Manager.
Then COVID hit and the restaurant industry changed almost overnight. Somewhere around that time I finally admitted something I had known for a long time. I wanted to build things. I wanted to solve problems in a different way.
I still have a lot of respect for the restaurant industry. It taught me a lot about people, pressure, leadership, and how to keep moving when things do not go according to plan.
About seven years after leaving college, I went back to school at Frederick Community College. I kept working while taking a full course load, first as an Assistant General Manager and later as a General Manager at Shake Shack. I graduated with High Honors, a 3.76 GPA, and the Gold Medallion.
Now I am finishing my Computer Science degree with a concentration in Machine Learning and a minor in Statistics. I am also still working as a General Manager while looking for my first opportunity in tech.
The restaurant industry gave me a lot of skills that I carry with me into computer science. Resilience, communication, problem solving, leadership, staying calm under pressure, and being able to adapt when things change quickly.
I like figuring things out. I like finding what is broken and fixing it. That part really has not changed.
Still the same person looking for something to fix. Just a bigger system now.
